My wife and I have known this lady for over 50 years. She was always very talkative but since she has developed Alzheimer's her personality has changed. She seems to be well cared for at Winscombe Hall and the staff that we have met are very helpful. She is always clean and her room is tidy. The only negative comment is that her room is at the lack of the house with a view of a brick wall. Winscombe Hall is an old property with interesting features, it's a shame that it is so far away making it difficult for visitors.

My mother was accepted to Winscombe Hall in February 2024. It turned out to be perfect for her with her developing needs. The staff and manager were very attentive and patient, and all seemed to like Mum.
She didn't partake in any of the social activities on offer, being bedbound - so there is a lot more on offer than Mum could use. When she passed away, the staff were with her, comforted her, and was communicative with me, for which I was very grateful.

Winscombe Hall
The building is listed and not originally built for nursing and dementia care, however it oozes with a homely atmosphere supported by staff who go the extra mile to ensure care to a very high standard to all residents.
From management to medical staff; carers, cleaners and maintenance personnel work as a team. Easy to speak to, including the welcome smile.

Putting your loved one into care is traumatic. The management, staff and medics take it all away. Winscombe Hall itself is an old family home and it's this atmosphere that is created. Residents enjoy the freedom within a watchful environment with activities to stimulate individuals.

Mum initially came to Winscombe Hall for respite from the hospital and ended up staying for six months before she sadly passed away. The care and compassion shown towards Mum and us during this difficult time was outstanding. It was so lovely how much love Mum had for all of the staff; she was very fond of them, and them of her. It was truly lovely to see, and I will hold this close to my heart and be forever grateful. Thank you.

My nana was a resident at Winscombe Hall. Throughout her time there, she had laughter, love and kindness given to her by so many of the staff. It became apparent in her final days that she was adored and loved by them and certain individuals, and telling stories of their time with Nana, gave us warmth and comfort.
The support from management, nursing staff and carers for us as a family towards the end was incredible. They took time to really talk us through everything, and they were so thorough. They made sure the family were fed and watered.
I cannot thank you all enough! Thank you so much for looking after my nana.

My wife has been a resident at Winscombe Hall since mid-September, the attitude of the staff towards their residents can only be described as exemplary. They are all caring and compassionate and show a great deal of love in their work.

" The Manager and her team looked after our mum in her final few weeks. We are so grateful to them for the kind, diligent and professional care they gave her, making sure her last days were as comfortable as possible, which is everything we could have wished for. We are particularly grateful for the excellent updates we received, both in person and on the phone, whenever there was a change in mum’s condition. Thank you to everyone for making our mum’s passing as gentle as possible."

"My wonderful late husband stayed at this beautiful home recently. The care was outstanding. I spent some time with the clinical manager and her nursing team whilst he was very poorly and the new care manager, my apologies her name escapes me. All extremely caring and knowledgable. What would have normally been a very distressing time for us all was made into a loving one by the staff. I would like to thank the clinical manager for giving me that extra time, I was such a mess, her empathy meant a lot to us all.
I only have one constructive criticism and that is the lady in the office is too quick on the phone and in person, sometimes we need more time as climbing those awful stairs at my age was a chore. Maybe the offices would be better suited where families and residents can access them.
I do talk to all my friends about the lovely experience we have had, thank you."

"My husband went into care 6 months ago. He is extremely well cared for. My daughter and I are always welcomed. Information is given each time we visit. Any problems we are contacted straight away. I have complete peace of mind with my husband's care. It is clean and the food is lovely. The staff, from cleaner to the high flyer are wonderful people and we are greeted by our names, which I find is nice."
